About the Project

This Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study involves evaluating the widening of Lennard Road from Walton Road to Savanna Club Boulevard (Segment 1); extension of Lennard Road from Savanna Club Boulevard to Tilton Road (Segment 2); and extension from Kitterman Road to U.S. 1 (Segment 3). St. Lucie County is currently designing the link between Segments 2 and 3 within a Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU). The project study area and the project limits for Lennard Road are illustrated on Figure 1.

The City of Port St. Lucie has widened Lennard Road from its southern terminus at U.S. 1 to Walton Road. Within the project limits, Lennard Road exists as a two lane roadway from Walton Road to Port St. Lucie High School. The proposed extension of Lennard Road is located in unincorporated St. Lucie County. The total length of this project excluding the MSBU segment is approximately 3.6 miles.

This PD&E study will evaluate the following:

• widening existing Lennard Road from two to four lanes from Walton Road to it’s northern terminus in the vicinity of Port St. Lucie High School;
• extending Lennard Road from it’s existing northern terminus north to the MSBU project; and,
• extending Lennard Road from the MBSU project at Kitterman Road to U.S. 1.

Other improvements will include sidewalks and bicycle accommodations, modifications to the existing stormwater management system to provide water quality and quantity treatment, and intersection improvements.
